A 911 caller alerted officers to a suspicious person in the neighborhood of West Park Road on Tuesday, June 18.

The ensuing conversation and investigation led to a host of charges being filed against Anthony Terrence Beach, 20, of 623 Hamilton St. in Williamston.

Martin County Chief Deputy Drew Robinson said the investigation involved deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Williamston Police Department.

The call came in at approximately 4:30 a.m. and officers arrived at the area and, upon arrival, located Beach and detained him.

“Investigators with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office responded and began the process of interviewing and continuing the investigation,” Chief Deputy Robinson said. “As the investigation progressed and physical evidence was located and collected.”

Following that investigation, the suspect was charged with multiple motor vehicle break-ins in the West Park Road, East Park Road, Smith Lane, Gary’s Lane, McCaskey Road and White Oak subdivision areas.

The break-ins reportedly occurred between June 13-18.

Beach was charged with 18 counts of felony breaking and entering, eight counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering, four counts of larceny of a firearm, four counts of possession of a stolen firearm and one count of felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was confined to the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

“The Martin County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Williamston Police Department for their assistance in this investigation,” Chief Deputy Robinson said.
