Report: Pre-Indictment Conference Set Today for Wildwood Officials
A pre-indictment conference is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in an Atlantic County courtroom for one former and two current Wildwood city officials accused of accepting health benefits for which they were not entitled. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Mayor Ernie Troiano and Commissioner Steve Mikulski, and former mayor Pete Byron, are all expected to appear before Judge Bernard DeLury at 1:30pm Thursday. All three have denied guilt.

Members of violent NJ gang terrorizing community sentenced to prison
JERSEY CITY — Two members of a violent gang that has had a government housing community in its clutches for over a decade have been sentenced to federal prison. A federal judge in Newark sentenced 30-year-old Jakeem Gibson-Madison, or “Beanz,” to 15 years in prison, U.S. Attorney Phillip Sellinger said Wednesday. Another toddler drowns in New Jersey
TOMS RIVER — A 3-year-old drowned in a backyard pool Wednesday night becoming the sixth reported drowning involving a toddler in New Jersey since May. Toms River police chief Mitch Little said the toddler went under in a backyard pool on Hazelwood Road after 5 p.m. but referred further inquiries about the incident to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
