WILLISTON, ND ( KXNET ) — One library is hosting a musician, author, and child development specialist during a block party.

According to a news release, Jim Gill is attending the Williston Community Library’s Summer Reading Block Party.

The party is taking place on Wednesday, July 24 in Davidson Park from 4-7 p.m.

Free hot dogs and chips will be available right away at 4 p.m.

There will be face painting, putt-putt golf, a foam machine, and giant lawn games in the park and on the library’s lawn.

7 free ways to beat the heat and boredom

The Williams County Bookmobile will be there to hand out free books to kids, and Jer Bears Sno Shack will serve cool treats as dessert.

People can also check out the emergency vehicles since they’ll be in attendance.

Jim Gill will take the stage at 6 p.m. and people are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs.

“We are so excited to bring Jim Gill back to Williston, his music is a staple during our library programs,” said Library Director, Andrea Placher. “He brings families together through music and play. It is such a great opportunity for our community to experience.”

The event is free for the entire community to enjoy.
