Guardians’ rookie shortstop is ‘stacking’ skills, building confidence — and showing he belongs
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Toronto’s Davis Schneider was at the plate with the bases empty two weeks ago in the eighth inning of a game that the Guardians led by two runs. Schneider smashed a grounder toward Brayan Rocchio that left the bat at 98.8 mph. Cleveland’s rookie shortstop made a backhanded stop, spun on one knee toward the middle of the infield and fired a one-hop throw to first base that Josh Naylor gobbled up to retire the runner by a step.
Davison Named 2nd Team L.E.L. as Freshman
A lot was asked of B.H.S. freshman (now sophomore) standout Emma Davison this season, and she DELIVERED for Coach Browning and the Lady Bearcats! Emma stepped into the huge responsibility of leadership for the team from her catcher position where she made plenty of timely throws and was extremely reliable behind the plate. She was also second on the team with a BA of .400. Add her 3.5 G.P.A. to that, and you have a great example of a student-athlete. Davison receiving second team All-Lake Erie League honors as a freshman will certainly put the Lady Bearcats in position to challenge for the league and BEYOND in 2025. #riseofthebearcats (Picture Credit to Matt Allen)

You can still get popcorn, hot dogs and ice-cold beer. But now you might also be able to order vegan dishes, boozy ice cream, globally inspired fare and unexpected twists on regional cuisine. Here are some of the most unexpected and extreme foods at ballparks throughout the Midwest.

Bridgeforth Named to Lake Erie League 2nd Team
Danny Bridgeforth was another one of Coach Incarnato’s Bearcats to receive post-season league honors. The junior (now senior) was name to the L.E.L.’s 2nd team for his efforts this year. His batted .296 while leading the team in doubles (4), and he was also second on the team in RBI’s (7). He also spent some time on the mound pitching this season where he managed to strike out 15 batters. As if that wasn’t enough, he maintained a fielding percentage of .955 while only committing 1 error all season. Impressive stats for guy who also plays quarterback for the football team in the fall and swims/dives during the winter.
