Amber alert issued for 12-year-old girl missing out of Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. - The California Highway Patrol has issued an Ebony Alert for a 12-year-old girl missing out of Long Beach. Teriana Mahomes was last seen around 4 p.m. on July 3, in the 6600 block of Atlantic Avenue. According to police, the girl was with her mother's boyfriend, Clark Thomas Wheeler.
3 missing siblings allegedly abducted by mother in LA found safe
Three children who were allegedly abducted by their mother in South Los Angeles were found Sunday and are safe, police said. The children were found with another adult family member in South Los Angeles, according to Sgt. S. Blackman of the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street station. They were not found with their mother, and Blackman said police are not looking for her at this time.
12-year-old killed, 9 others injured after car crash near Watts
A three-car collision near Watts killed a 12-year-old girl and injured several more Friday night. The crash happened a little before 6:20 p.m. in the 630 block of E. Century Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It injured nine people: six adults and three juveniles. All but one of the patients escaped out of their cars. Firefighters rescued one of the drivers from her car. Paramedics took her to a nearby hospital in a serious condition. Crews took five other adults in fair condition to the hospital. The three kids were in moderate condition when ambulances drove them away from the scene. The 12-year-old died at the scene. Investigators did not immediately release the cause of the crash.

2 sheriff's deputies injured after chase from Compton to Long Beach ends in crash
Two sheriff's deputies were injured, and at least one of them was taken to the hospital, after a chase came to a crashing end in Long Beach overnight.The pursuit involved a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. It started around 4 a.m. in Compton and made its way over to Long Beach, where the suspect vehicle crashed on Atlantic Boulevard, north of the 91 Freeway.One of the pursuing sheriff's vehicles crashed into an island and a tree shortly after that.Two deputies were hurt and one was taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was not known.Up to four suspects were taken into custody in connection with the chase. It's unclear if any of them were injured.

Residents of Pacoima rallied together to support the family of a young boy with autism after he was slapped in the face by a grown man in a disturbing on-camera assault. Alfredo Morales and his family were crossing the street in Pacoima on Monday near the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Osborne Street when the child touched the logo of a Mercedes Benz that was stopped while waiting for the traffic light to change. Alleged reckless driver hits Los Angeles County deputy during pursuit
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was in pursuit of a reckless driver who allegedly hit a deputy.Deputies were able to trap the driver in a parking lot near Buliss Road and Myrrh Street in Compton after spiking the car's tires and blocking the exits. The driver stayed in a parking spot while deputies surrounded the vehicle and placed another spike strip in front of it. The suspect refused to surrender, aimlessly driving around the parking lot while dragging a spike strip.Deputies boxed the suspect in with their vehicles after a brief drive around the parking lot. They shot pepper balls into the back of the sedan after pinning the suspect's car to hopefully end the standoff. However, the suspect and a passenger inside refused to exit the car but did roll down the driver-side window. After a brief standoff, the driver and the passenger surrendered to deputies.
