Temps were hot, but golfers were cool
Your correspondent in Chicago Lawn and Marquette Manor. The weekend of June 22/23 started with temps in the 90s, a high humidity both days and the threat of rain loomed throughout the weekend as well. This is not unusual for the third week in June, many times it rains, sometimes heavy storms even. But the roasting temperatures fueled by the humidity was not enough to keep the duffers from the 41st Senior Amateur Golf Championship at Marquette Park. The golfers are indeed a hearty group.
