Millennium Park celebrates its 20th birthday this weekend
The celebration kicks off tonight with a concert highlighting Latino culture. Friday night the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will perform the music from Star Wars and more. Saturday Chicago native and rapper Common will perform with the Grant Park orchestra followed by fireworks. on Sunday there are lots of family friendly activities along with an evening concert. All events are free. Millennium Park opened on July 16, 2004. It was built on top of parking garages and commuter rail lines and it’s considered the world’s largest rooftop garden.

Man found fatally shot on Albany Park sidewalk
CHICAGO — A man found unresponsive on a sidewalk in Albany Park early Tuesday was shot to death, officials say. Officers responding to calls of a person down found the 59-year-old Evanston man lying near a strip mall in the 3300 block of West Lawrence around 2:37 a.m. Chicago Fire Department personnel attempted to save the man, but he succumbed to his injuries at Swedish Hospital a short time later.
