Wilson Creek’s Road R Fire burns 500 acres, prompts state fire assistance
WILSON CREEK, Wash. — A 500-acre wildfire is currently burning near Wilson Creek, with crews actively battling the blaze. Update July 18 7:30 p.m. – Officials reported that the fire began on Thursday, July 18, around 3 p.m. It is estimated to cover 500 acres and is burning in sagebrush. Fire officials have stated that the blaze is threatening crops, power lines and homes. There are currently no evacuations in effect, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
