Russell County Sheriff seizes animals in heat distress
On July 12th at about 10:15 a.m. the Russell County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 300 block of north Kansas Avenue in Luray for an animal welfare check. Arriving on scene, the sheriff’s Office became aware of several animals in an abandoned house that appeared to be in distress. The owners of the animals were identified, and contact was made.

RUSSELL COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 11 a.m. Tuesday in Russell County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Dodge Neon driven by Christopher T. Ford, 18, Hillsboro, Missouri was westbound on Interstate 70 just east of the Gorham exit in the passing lane when it caught up to another vehicle.
