Couple seek decision on possible second dwelling unit on property
TEWKSBURY — The Tewksbury Zoning Board of Appeals met on June 27, 2024 with members Nancy Rego, Daniel Teixeira, and Robert Dugan. The Zoning Board of Appeals reviews and approves applications for variances from the town’s zoning bylaw under Chapter 40A of the Massachusetts General Laws. The board also hears appeals related to decisions on permits and enforcement action made by the town building department.

Two-Alarm Fire Saturday in Haverhill Displaces Residents; Blaze Began in Mulch Outside Building
There were no injuries, but up to a dozen residents were displaced Saturday afternoon after a two-alarm fire at a multifamily building on Arlington Street in Haverhill. Haverhill Fire Chief Robert M. O’Brien said the fire appears to have been started by careless disposal of cigarettes in mulch near the front entrance of the home at 34-36 Arlington St.

Ashland man dies after motorcycle collides with car at intersection in Holliston
HOLLISTON — An Ashland man died Sunday after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car, authorities said. Holliston police identified the man as Andrew Palumbo, 62. According to a press release from police, Palumbo was riding the motorcycle at about 7:48 p.m. when it collided with a car near the intersection of Prentice and Mill streets.
