RMV inspection outage causing headaches for motorists, businesses
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Issues following Friday’s global tech outage are still lingering into this week as the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles is unable to issue new inspection stickers. A global tech outage affected businesses across Massachusetts and beyond on Friday and even though it’s a new week, some businesses are still dealing with the same problems. On Tuesday, the RMV released a statement that read: “Motor vehicle inspections are unavailable in the state due to the global outage on Friday, 7/19, which impacted the use of some technology. The RMV continues to coordinate with its vendor, Opus, and inspection sites to remedy issues. Motorcycle inspections are available.”
