TNT Competitive Edge dance team is heading to national competition
Competitive Edge Dance Team is a group of young dancers based out of TNT Dance Studio, on the Center Road, in Fairfield. The Studio began as Terri’s School of Dance and was founded by Theresa “Terri” Glidden 50 years ago. It is now owned and operated by Terri’s daughter, Tiffany Glidden, and Jesse Klein. They started competitive dancing 30 years ago when Tiffany was a young child and they have continued to build a strong team of competitive dancers ever since. This year is not any different, as they are setting out to take the stage at Dance Ovations Nationals, on Cape Cod, for the week of June 26 – 30. The team has traveled all over New England this year and qualified for this national competition by competing in the regional event in Stratham, New Hampshire, in early May. They have worked all year and engaged in multiple fundraising events to be able to compete at this level.

Thistle Inn serves up win at newest Windjammer Days contest
There was a new event at this year’s Windjammer Days, the server shuffle. Teams of two waitstaff raced down the Footbridge with glasses, champagne flutes and other containers of water on serving trays. Whoever brought back the most liquid in the least time won. With speed and balance, the Thistle Inn team, Amy Stockford and Bianca Bal, took first place beating others from Pier One Pizza, Waves, Carriage House, Whale’s Tale, and Boathouse Bistro. Organizers said they hope to see the event on the menu again at next year’s Windjammer Days.
Big crowds expected in Bar Harbor for Fourth of July, following weekend
BAR HARBOR, Maine (WABI) - The Fourth of July and following days in Bar Harbor is regarded at the town’s busiest weekend. “We have a large influx of people that come to Bar Harbor during the Fourth of July because of all the festivities and the great fireworks and just the great terrain. So, it really draws a lot of people. With the great weather this year, I do expect we’ll see record numbers of people in Bar Harbor.
