90 year old shoots his age on the golf course.
MADAWASKA, Maine (WAGM) - Golf is a lifetime sport with people playing the game into their 90′s and older. Some County and Western New Brunswick Clubs are no exception, as they have several members who are over the age of 90. Most of the older golfers enjoy a game with their friends at their local course, but a Madawaska golfer is one of the oldest active members of the Upper St John Valley Seniors Association. Mike Pelletier who turns 91 this week is still very competitive and shoots his age consistently.
Greater Bangor 4th of July preps for event-filled holiday
BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Bangor area is planning for a busy 4th of July Thursday. There will be many events for the public to enjoy, most of which are free. 4th of July celebrations Thursday will begin with a pancake breakfast at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Veterans eat for free and other attendees can get a plate for $15.

Skidompha Genealogy Roundtable July 11
The Skidompha genealogy roundtable at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 will feature a visual stroll through 120 years of changes on Main Street in Newcastle. Karen Paz will show examples of historic photos taken throughout the area, noting the people associated with them. She will also show samples of some of the thousands of images including portraits, family gatherings, school events, house photos, and social groups from the late 1800s to mid-1900s that are contained in the Newcastle Historical Society’s Dinsmore-Flye collection.
