Activists are infiltrating school lunches
Meat is on the menu . . . but for how long? Vegan and animal rights crusaders are ramping up efforts to increase “plant-based” offerings on the menu at K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. The University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and most recently, Western Oregon University are just a few of the schools who have allegedly made “plant-based” menu commitments. Most of these pledges are made in partnership with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to reduce the number of animal-based choices.
Department of Surgery T32 Renewed by NIH, Providing an Unparalleled 20 Consecutive Years of Research Training in Voice and Voice Disorders
Voice disorders affect approximately 7.5 million people in the United States. Since 2009, the University of Wisconsin Department of Surgery has been deeply involved in training the next generation of researchers who will help to study and treat these disorders. With recently renewed funding from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, the department will continue to do so for an additional five years, bringing the total length of ongoing federal funding for the UW-Madison Voice Research Training Program to 20 consecutive years.
