Robin Lail is a very unique talent and force within the wine industry. Growing up among the operations of her great-granduncle Gustave Niebaum's Inglenook , Robin learned from an early age what legacy in the valley meant. That imprint left on her from childhood continues to drive decisions made today at her own eponymous winery, Lail Vineyards , co-founded in 1995 with her daughters Shannon & Erin Lail.

As the company continues to take significant steps to reduce its carbon footprint. Lail Vineyards has received Napa Green certification for its regeneratively farmed estate vineyards, has removed foil capsules from the necks of its wine bottles, and beginning with the 2022 J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon and today's new release of 2022 Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon, the winery will use shorter corks and bottles that weigh 13% - 20% less than before. For years Lail Vineyards has also been donating 10% of online sales of their Blueprint wines to innovative organizations fighting climate change including Cool Effect , Climeworks , and The Porto Protocol , where in 2019 Robin was named the U.S. Ambassador.

Agriculture is suffering the direct effects of climate change, and the challenge of finding a solution can be overwhelming, which can make some people feel paralyzed ,” said Robin Daniel Lail, President & Co-Founder of Lail Vineyards. “ Although we’re a small company, we think it’s very important to do as much as we can to implement solutions and to diminish our contributions to overheating our planet. We believe that no change is too small .”

In addition to running Lail Vineyards, Robin Daniel Lail is also the International Ambassador for The Porto Protocol —a global organization founded by The Fladgate Partnership —that encourages its members to share practical knowledge and everyday practices to empower their peers in the wine industry to mitigate climate change and promote sustainability. She believes that the collective voices and actions of many can produce solutions and change.

Coming from a collection of vineyards in the top growing areas of Napa Valley, the 2022 Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon represents the best of Napa. Calistoga, Coombsville, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, Stags Leap District, Yountville are all represented. The wine spent 17 months in French oak barrels, 65% of which were new. The wine is made by the stewardship of Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzky, two of the most respected names in Napa Valley winemaking. 2586 cases were produced.

The 2022 Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet with purple edges, revealing vibrant aromas of black and Bing cherry and boysenberry. Flavors follow in step, adding blue and red fruits with notes of cocoa, black olive and sage. It is richly-layered with wonderful freshness and bright energy. Finely-balanced, long and immediately drinkable, this is fully representative of the challenging but ultimately successful 2022 vintage .” Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzky, Winemakers
