City Administrator: Packer Street to Close for Road Work Monday
SUNBURY – There’s word today a section of a busy street in Sunbury is blocked for utility work. Virginia Angler Wins Susquehanna River Kayak Fishing Tourney
LEWISBURG – Smallmouth bass anglers caught almost 2,500 fish in the Susquehanna River over the weekend, and some of those fish were 20 inches or more. There was also a lots of attention was focused on The Valley over the weekend. A national kayak bass fishing tournament was held here. In the end, it was an angler from Virginia who won the tournament, and over $11,600 in prize money. The Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau hosted the tournament.

Milton fugitive caught in Montgomery with methamphetamine pipe
Montgomery, Pa. — Troopers spotted a drug pipe while speaking with a woman wanted by state police in Milton. Belinda Marie Sepkoski, 50, was taken into custody this week when police spotted the pipe with methamphetamine residue in her bag, Trooper Bryan Carlson wrote in an affidavit. Sepkoski was stopped in the parking lot of the Uni-Mart on South Main Street in Montgomery after troopers realized she was wanted on multiple arrest warrants, Carlson added. Sepkoski is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Sepkoski is facing retail theft and receiving stolen property charges in Union County, according to court records. Docket sheet

Woman Stole 2K from Couple Helping Her Financially
White Deer, Pa. — A couple lost $2,000 after taking in a woman to help her get back on her feet financially. Milton State police said that 48 year old Justine Shawn Shilo, had been staying with the couple in White Deer Township in 2023 when an alleged theft occurred. The victim told police she opened a bank account for Shilo after she moved in but she was not listed as an authorized user on the account. Shilo allegedly gave the victim a Netspend prepaid card for $2,000 on Jan. 30, 2023 and asked her to deposit it into the account. Shortly after that, the two women had a falling out and Shilo withdrew her money from the account, and gave it to her in cash. Several days later, the victim discovered Netspend withdrew $2,000 out of her personal bank account. When police interviewed Shilo, she admitted she falsified a fraudulent use dispute with Netspend regarding the $2,000. Police said that Shilo had not made any attempts to pay the couple back and they filed a felony theft by deception charge and Shilo was located and arrested. She remains jailed in lieu of bail.
