    Man arraigned in Kanawha County after allegedly beating man with object, causing life-threatening injuries

    KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — A man was arraigned in Kanawha County on Thursday on attempted murder and malicious wounding charges after allegedly hitting a man with an object multiple times, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

    William Cobb, 72, of Winfield, also known as Billy Cobb, started hitting the victim multiple times with a blunt-force object after an altercation involving a canopy the victim brought onto the property in Kanawha County, according to a criminal complaint.

    The male victim had “severe head trauma” with lacerations to his head and facial area. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the complaint.

    Cobb is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on a $250,000 10%-cash-only bond, according to the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
