A general view of a damaged tire.

The first 132 laps of Corey Day's ARCA Menards Series debut at Salem were incredibly impressive. However, a potential top-five run was erased in a matter of seconds on lap 133.

Day was running in third place on lap 133 and was in the process of battling Lavar Scott for the second spot. While Day pulled ahead of Scott as the pair roared down the backstretch, he came up on Scott's No. 6 car before he was clear, sending Day's No. 28 Chevrolet spinning into the inside wall.

Toni Breidinger would spin entering Turn 3 and would hit Day's car on the right side. Both cars would be out of the event, with Day finishing the race in 15th.

While the crash was certainly an unfortunate way for his ARCA debut to come to a close, his consistent, top-five run likely turned some heads.

At just 18 years old, it's safe to say that Day has the potential to have an incredible NASCAR career.

William Sawalich would win the race from the pole position, leading all 200 laps. Andres Perez would come home in the runner-up spot, with Scott, Will Kimmel and Christian Rose completing the top five. Isaac Johnson and Cody Dennison finished sixth and seventh, respectively, with Ryan Roulette, Brayton Laster and Kris Wright rounding out the top 10. The win is Sawalich's third consecutive victory.

With NASCAR's top three series on hiatus for the Olympics, the ARCA Menards Series will once more take center stage next Saturday at the Elko (MN) Speedway.

The Shore Lunch 250 will go green shortly after 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 3. Coverage will be provided by Fox Sports 1, FloRacing, the Fox Sports App and ARCARacing.com.
