Talking to Knights247 after their visit they were glowing about UCF's reputation as "TwinU" with several twins recently playing together on campus. The duo combined for 82 tackles, 13 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery as sophomores as they moved around the front seven with Darryll moving inside and Mandrell getting snaps at linebacker. Lee adds another game breaking edge rusher for the Knights, something that defensive ends coach Kenny Ingram has typically done through the portal, but now adds some young guys to the room alongside Kaven Call and Isaiah Nixon. Lee is a great get for Ingram as he was courted by several power four schools, including Miami who he spent his final official visit with. Outside of the Hurricanes, he also took visits to Arkansas and Kansas with the Jayhawks very interesting in keeping him away from the Knights. BOOM!!! Waden Charles Commits To UCF!
ORLANDO, FL - It isn't July 4th yet, but that's didn't stop the UCF Knights and Gus Malzahn's staff from creating a "Boom!" as the program lands the commitment of Palm Beach Central (West Palm Beach, Fla) 4 Star wide receiver Waden Charles. A major coup for offensive coordinator Tim Harris Jr as he's able to pull the second best receiver out of south Florida in the class, who was a long time commit for the Miami Hurricanes. A possession-based receiver the UCF coaching staff compared his game and potential impact to the Knights' top receivers from the past two seasons. He told Knights247, "They've been saying, I can make an impact like Javon Baker, Kobe Hudson, and some of those guys did." It's also of mention that his former high school teammate and fellow Choice1 Management client 4 Star Miami Central (Miami, Fla) defensive back Tony Williams has been locked in with the Knights and was officially visiting the same weekend. Williams told Knights247, "I've just been keeping it real with him, you know it's great out here. We had fun this weekend and he's seen that himself, he likes it over here a lot. We talked to him about it a lot , you know it's the Big 12 they're gonna throw the ball a lot. They just got KJ [Jefferson] and a lot of people over here that'll make him great and prepare him for the next level."
