MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced Monday it will host a series of public hearings to discuss the design, location, and environmental impacts of proposed improvements to I-39/90/94.

WisDOT said the I-39/90/94 Corridor Study is looking to address safety issues, along with the aging and outdated infrastructure along the 67-mile segment in Dane, Columbia, Sauk, and Juneau counties. The public hearings will provide updates on the study's recommended preferred alternative and opportunities to submit testimony for the official public hearing record.

WisDOT said residents will have three opportunities to participate, including a virtual option. The virtual hearing will run from 5-7 p.m. on July 29. The two in-person hearings will occur on July 30 and Aug. 1, both from 4-7 p.m. The first will occur at Madison College, and the second will occur at Wisconsin Dells High School.

Interested residents who are unable to attend the hearings should visit the project website , or contact WisDOT project manager David Schmidt .
