    Here's where you can find fireworks, parades and events near Wisconsin Rapids for the Fourth of July

    The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and there are no shortages of fireworks displays, musical performances, children's activities and even a few competitions and parades for those looking for ways to celebrate the holiday.

    Check out these events happening in the Wisconsin Rapids area.

    Adams

    Adams-Friendship VFW Post 6279 and Auxiliary will host a Fourth of July parade and picnic on Thursday. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and there is a new route due to construction on State 13. The parade will start on West Lake Street (Adams County J), turn right on West Street, go all the way down West Street and then come out on State 13 and finish on State 13 in the city of Adams.

    Friendship

    The Castle Rock Lions Club will present Patriotic Days on Saturday and Sunday at Castle Rock County Park, 2397 Adams County Z in Friendship. Events on Saturday will include a car show starting at 9 a.m. and fireworks at dusk. Vendors will be selling food, popcorn, novelties, soda and beer. A pancake breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.

    Pittsville

    The Pittsville American Legion and Pittsville Lions Club will hold their 62nd annual Fourth of July Celebration Wednesday and Thursday at Riverside Park in Pittsville. On Wednesday, the Heart and Sole Race, carnival and a performance by Rising Phoenix from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. will be held. Events on Thursday kick off with a kiddie parade at 11:30 p.m. and full parade at noon, followed by bingo, food booths, carnival rides from 1:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., music by Tuck Pence from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., music by Exit 145 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and fireworks about 9:45 p.m.

    Rome

    Head to Lake Sherwood Lodge, 1146 W. Queens Way in the town of Rome, for an Independence Day Celebration from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday. The event will include food and beer vendors, a boat parade at 1 p.m., cornhole tournament at 1 p.m., children's activities from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., game tent, performances by the Shermalot Juniors Ski Team at 4:30 p.m. and main show at 7:20 p.m., music by Southbound from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.

    Wisconsin Rapids

    Hundreds will gather near the Wisconsin River for the city of Wisconsin Rapids' fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Activities also are planned downtown prior to the fireworks. Entertainment Engines will start playing music at 6 p.m., and food and refreshment vendors will be set up on both West Grand Avenue and on Second Street South, south of East Grand Avenue. The Wisconsin Rapids City Band will perform from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. outside of the Centralia Center at 220 Third Ave. S.
