Man dies after falling from truck, being run over by trailer in Aiken County

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – Authorities say a man has died after falling off the back of a truck and being run over by the trailer the truck was pulling.

According to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred on Friday, August 16th at approximately 4:03 p.m. on the 6000 block of Northside Drive, in North Augusta.

Authorities say the victim was riding on the back of a truck when he fell off and was ran over by a trailer the truck was pulling.

The victim was transported to an area hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced deceased at 5:07 p.m.

The victim’s name will be released after family has been notified.

An autopsy is scheduled in Newberry.

The Coroner’s Office along with South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing with the investigation.
