    Multiple arrests in Washington County after drug bust

    WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Several people have been arrested for the sale and possession of drugs in Washington County, after multiple agencies executed a search warrant in Sandersville Friday morning.

    Washington County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Middle Georgia Gang Task Force, Sandersville Police Department, DCS and the GBI performed a search warrant at a residence on Gum Street on August 23, where several narcotics were discovered. Throughout the course of the day, investigators made more arrests.

    The arrests and charges are as follows:

    • Robert Johnson, 64, of Sandersville: Three Counts of Sale of Cocaine
    • Howard Swint, 54, of Sandersville : Two Counts of Sale of Cocaine
    • Donald Sutton Jr., 47, of Sandersville: Two Counts of Sale of Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
    • Anthony Williams, 30, of Warthen : Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Probation Violation
    • William Hall, 39 of Tennille: Possession of Cocaine, Parole Violation, False Report of a Crime, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Failure to Obey Stop Sign, Failure to Maintain Lane
    • Freddie Flemming, 59, of Sandersville: Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
    • Justin Sutton, 32, of Sandersville : Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Felony.

    Speaking on the arrests, Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran said law enforcement remain committed to “stop the flow and sale of illegal substances in our community.”

    “Together, we’ll continue to fight against this threat to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents,” said Sheriff Cochran. “We won’t back down.”
