JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — No life-threatening injuries were sustained after a tractor-trailer that fell off an Interstate 26 overpass landed on a convertible traveling below it, the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) reports.

According to police on scene early Sunday morning, the crash began on I-26 westbound near mile marker 22. JCPD’s Officer Guider told News Channel 11 on scene that the tractor-trailer left the roadway on I-26 at a bridge overpass, fell to the road below (E Fairview Avenue) and landed on a Mustang convertible.

The occupants of both vehicles were transported to a nearby hospital without life-threatening injuries, Guider said.
