JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The organization Downtown Johnson City said trees for this year’s Candy Land Christmas seasonal event sold out less than five minutes after going on sale.

A post by the non-profit organization said there were more than 200 “unique users” queued up on the organization’s website waiting to purchase a Christmas tree to decorate, which will sit in either King Commons or Founders Park this holiday season.

The Candy Land Christmas event is entering its fourth year of spreading happiness and cheer downtown, bringing families from across the Tri-Cities to bask in the hundreds of decorated trees.

Tree decorating is open for purchase each year to local businesses and non-profit organizations. Each purchasing group receives one tree to decorate however they please, given they remain within the guidelines for family-friendliness.

“We continue to be humbled by the excitement for Candy Land Christmas each year,” the organization said in the post. “Thank you for making this event so great!”

Candy Land Christmas will last Nov. 30 to Jan. 5, 2025. The annual Grand Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m.
