THP: Man crashes, flees after pursuit in Unicoi County

UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) responded to a crash on Thursday after a man allegedly evaded authorities in a vehicle, according to a report from the THP.

The report said a man traveled westbound on State Route 353 in Unicoi County while evading police. The man then reportedly crossed the double yellow lines, ran off the left side of the road and crashed into the front of a home. After crashing, the man fled the scene, the report said.

The man has been identified as Cody Bowling, 37.

There is an ongoing investigation.

News Channel 11 has contacted the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office and is awaiting a response.
