    Jackson Airport sees high demand for 2024 summer travel

    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The summer travel season is underway at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN).

    According to JAN officials, airlines are reporting a surge in demand for reservations during the Memorial Day holiday period and throughout the summer.

    Travelers can expect increased activity at the airport beginning Thursday, May 23. They’re encouraged to check their flight status at www.iFlyJackson.com or with their respective airline.

    Want to dodge Memorial Day crowds? You may want to avoid these destinations

    Passengers are encouraged to arrive at least two hours before their flight departure to allow ample time for check-in and security procedures.

    Important JAN parking rate updates, beginning June 3, are as follows:

    • Economy Lot at $13 per day (remote lot, with frequent, nonstop shuttle buses)
    • Surface Lot at $17 per day (quick walk into the JAN terminal)
    • Garage at $19 per day (at the JAN terminal)
    • Cellphone lot is free; 1st 10 minutes in lots are free; Hourly Parking is $5 per hour

    Parking availability notifications will be updated throughout this period. Shuttle service is provided for customers parked in the remote lot. They can call 601-360-8690 for real-time parking information.
