LAUREL, Miss. ( WHLT ) – For this week’s Cool Schools, we head over to the Pine Belt. Known as the school without halls, Unlimited Dreams Christian Learning Center in Laurel welcomed 117 students to its new location at the old Glory House on North Second Avenue.

Founder Amanda Cooley says she and her mother, Brendalyn Campbell saw a need to help kids who were struggling with reading. That’s where Unlimited Dreams Christian Learning Center was born, in August 2020.

“We realized that there were children that were still illiterate in the fourth and fifth grade, and we knew that was a problem,” said Cooley.

The accredited private school for grades K-12 offers free tuition for all who attend. The new location sits just a house apart from its old location, equipped with a library, a quiet room including a cafeteria.

The mother and daughter duo say they are grateful for the outpouring of support from the community since they launched their dream school four years ago.

“I didn’t know how to feel. I was just shocked. I’m still in shock of it all but we know we’re doing the right thing,” said Cooley.

The new Unlimited Dreams Christian Learning Center is located on 803 North Second Avenue in Laurel. Click on this link if you’d like to donate to the school.
