Vicksburg woman sentenced for directing child to commit felony

VICKSBURG, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A Vicksburg woman was sentenced for directing a child to commit a felony.

Vicksburg Daily News reported Laquesha Davis was sentenced on Friday to 10 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).

Davis pled guilty in July to the charge in connection to the June 2021 death of Malik Vallerie. Her former co-defendant, Demarion Reed, was acquitted earlier this year.

Police said Vallerie was shot and killed on a basketball court in the Waterville area.
