    Two killed after train hits truck in Copiah County

    COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Two people have died after a truck was hit by a train in Copiah County.

    The crash happened on Spitchley Road just before noon on Wednesday, August 28.

    Three found dead in Leake County

    Copiah County Sheriff Byron Swilley said the two victims were inside the truck. The sheriff identified the victims as 73-year-old Nathaniel Catchings and 77-year-old Margarite Catchings. They were from the Hazlehurst area.

    According to Swilley, the Canadian National train was heading south when the collision occurred.

    Copiah County deputies, the Copiah County EMA and Canadian National responded to the scene.
