    10 sobriety checkpoints this weekend: Here’s where

    (WJW) – Law enforcement will be looking for impaired drivers in Northeast Ohio this weekend.

    According to officials, OVI checkpoints are planned in at least 10 of Ohio’s 88 counties between Friday, Aug. 23, and Saturday, Aug. 24.

    Friday, Aug. 23:

    The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports planned OVI checkpoints in Cuyahoga, Hancock, Perry, Clermont and Stark counties.

    Here are the local details:

    • Cuyahoga County

    The Newburgh Heights Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Cleveland Post will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Harvard Road. An exact time was not provided.

    • Stark County

    The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced an OVI checkpoint will take place from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. at 3221 Cleveland Avenue SW in Canton. Motorists can also expect nearby saturation patrols.

    Saturday, Aug. 24:

    The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports planned OVI checkpoints in Lorain, Athens, Belmont, Logan and Trumbull counties.
