Hickory softball falls in district championship

ERIE, Pa (WKBN) – Hickory softball falls in the District 10 Class 4A Championship to Cathedral Prep 9-5, Monday at Penn State Behrend in Erie.

Hickory Junior Layla McClung led the way for the Hornets and recorded 3 hits at 3 at-bats. McClung also hit 2 doubles and drove in 2 runs in the loss.

Cathedral Prep advances to the 2024 PIAA Softball State Championship. The first round starts Monday, June 3.

Hickory ends the season as D10 Class 4A runners-up and an overall record of 13-10.
