( WJET/WFXP ) – Bids to award 20 expired restaurant licenses throughout Pennsylvania are now being accepted.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) announced in a Tuesday release welcoming bids to the licenses in the 13th license auction since Act 39 became effective in August 2016.
The bids for this restaurant license auction are due by noon on Oct. 1. Bids will then be opened on Thursday, Oct. 3, and auction winners will be determined.
This auction includes one license in each of the following 20 counties: Allegheny; Armstrong; Beaver; Bucks; Clarion; Delaware; Erie; Fayette; Huntingdon; Lawrence; Lehigh; Lycoming; McKean; Montgomery; Northampton; Pike; Potter; Sullivan; Washington; and Westmoreland.
Several NWPA schools awarded money for fresh fruits, veggies The release explains that the minimum bid for each license is $25,000 with each bid needing a bid surety of $5,000 or 5% of the total bid amount – whichever is higher.
The highest bidder for each license will win the right to apply for the license within six months of the auction award. If the bid payment is not received within two weeks of the auction award, then the second-highest bidder can apply for the license.
