Local hardware store closing next month

SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) — The True Value hardware store on E. State Street Salem is closing.

An employee confirmed that the store’s last day of business will be Sept. 8. A closing sale is underway now.

No reason was given for the closure, though a manager told the Morning Journal that the closure had been attributed to declining sales. The manager also reported that the business’s 10 employees had been offered positions elsewhere within the company.

Earlier this year, the True Value store in Cornersburg also closed its doors.
