WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — An Austintown man is facing a new felony charge after what police described as an OVI-related crash in Warren.

A warrant for the arrest of Douglas Bressler Jr., 20, was filed Wednesday on an aggravated vehicular assault charge with alcohol, according to court records. Bressler previously faced driving under the influence and driving under suspension charges for the crash on June 13.

According to a police report, Bressler was involved in a crash with two vehicles and a motorcycle at the intersection of W. Market Street and Parkman Road NW on June 13. While investigating the crash, officers received a report that Bressler — who was driving a Ford 500 — had thrown a can of Twisted Tea from the vehicle. Police found a can of alcohol inside a brown paper bag near the passenger side of the vehicle, and body camera video showed Bressler throwing the can there, the report stated.

Police said Bressler appeared to be intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. The report states that he then admitted to drinking “half a tall boy,” even though he is under the legal drinking age.

Police said Bressler had a blood-alcohol content of .149, over the legal driving limit of .08.

The report did not detail the conditions of the other drivers in the crash but said they were transported to area hospitals.

At the time, police arrested and released Bressler on an OVI charge. The felony charge was filed later, according to court records.
