BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) — Cleveland Browns running back Pierre Strong left the team’s practice facility in an ambulance on Wednesday afternoon.

He walked off the practice field after suffering a rib contusion and was experiencing shortness of breath. He was then taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The Browns say that Strong was subsequently released from the hospital after further evaluation.

Strong has appeared in both of Cleveland’s preseason games, rushing for a total of 21 yards in limited action.

He was originally acquired by the Browns in a trade with New England at the end of training camp in 2023.

In his first season in Cleveland, he rushed for 291 yards and a touchdown. He was also used as a kickoff returner.

Strong was selected by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of South Dakota State.
