BELLAIRE, Ohio. ( WTRF ) — If you are a resident in Ohio who is looking to grow cannabis at home, there are a few rules you need to be aware of.

Adults are allowed up to six plants; two adults under one roof can have a maximum of 12 plants.

Business owner Bill Schmitt Jr. says you can buy supplies from dispensaries and smoke shops like the Holistic Cloud to begin the home growing process.

Say if it’s just six plants per household, three can be in flowering, three can be in veg. So, if you have a total of 12, six can be in veg, six can be in flowering. Just be mindful that there is a plant limit and your also not allowed to sell any of your cannabis, but you are allowed to gift some of it.”

Schmitt reminds everyone that there are federal laws in neighboring states that prohibit recreational use; make sure you don’t bring cannabis products from Ohio over state lines.
