BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Steve Flores is officially the new boys varsity basketball head coach at Boardman High School.

He was approved at a school board meeting on Monday night.

Flores has served as a varsity assistant coach at Boardman for the last four seasons.

He previously served as a varsity assistant coach at both Woodrow Wilson and Youngstown East High Schools.

The East Liverpool, Ohio native started his college basketball career at the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to Youngstown State.

Flores replaces Pat Birch, who stepped down from the position to take an assistant principal position with the Boardman Schools.
