YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A Springfield man Tuesday was sentenced to 90 days in prison after he pleaded guilty to his sixth OVI.

Stephen Kness, 62, received the sentence from Judge Anthony Donofrio in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court after he entered his guilty plea July 18 to the charge, which is a third-degree felony.

Kness’ license was also suspended for three years to life.

Kness was charged after he was arrested in December by Boardman police after he was driving against traffic and fishtailing on Southern Boulevard.

Officers discovered when they were processing Kness that he had five previous OVIs between 2017 and 2020, reports said.

Kness failed a field sobriety test and his eyes were glassy, reports said. He refused to take a breath test, reports said.
