Teen found with gun at Canfield Fair: Sheriff

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – A teenager who deputies said had a gun at the Canfield Fair on Sunday is facing charges.

Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene said a person alerted them that a 17-year-old boy from the Youngstown area had a pistol in his waistband.

Greene said this led to a brief foot chase that happened around 8 p.m., and the chase ended near the grandstand. No injuries were reported and shots weren’t fired, according to Greene.

The boy is charged with aggravated menacing and criminal trespass. Deputies said that weapons violations would also be added after consultation with the Mahoning County prosecutor.

The boy is in the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center.
