    Mobile teen arrested in connection with July shooting that injured 1

    MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Mobile Police Department has arrested a teenager in connection with a shooting that injured one person on July 31 .

    18-year-old Ashton Tremichael Johnson-Whitfield was arrested and taken to Metro Jail Monday morning.

    Johnson-Whitfield is facing two first-degree assault charges and two discharging a gun into (un)occupied vehicle/building.

    He was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on the 1900 block of Allison Street on July 31 around 4 a.m.

    A disorderly complaint was filed with MPD, in which officers responded and found a male near the street suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.

    Johnson-Whitfield is set to appear in court Wednesday, Aug. 31, for a bond hearing.
