    MOBILE, Ala. ( Gulf Coast CW ) — Mobile Tiki Week, Atlanta’s Orchestra Noir Y2K Meets 90s Tour, an art show and football highlight your 5 Things to Do This Weekend for Aug. 23-25, 2024!

    1. Mobile Tiki Week : The fun and festivities of Mobile Tiki Week continue this weekend. It began Monday and runs through Saturday. So there is still plenty of time for tropical drinks, eats and events at Downtown’s finest, bars, restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops such as “POST,” “Chuck’s Fish,” “Grace,” “The Merry Widow and “Yellowhammer Coffee.” Prices vary depending on where you go!

    2. Orchestra Noir Y2K Meets 90s : Atlanta’s Orchestra Noir brings the Y2K Meets 90’s Tour to the Mobile Saenger on Saturday, Aug. 24! From 8 to 10 p.m. enjoy a performance from the Atlanta African American Orchestra. They celebrate the cultural achievements of African American music pioneers across all genres of music including classical, jazz, blues, hip-hop, and R&B. This performance includes music of course from the 90s and the 2000s! Tickets can be found on Ticket Master’s website !

    3. Loyola Art Show : A three-day art show is here in downtown Mobile! The Loyola Art Show is setting sights on bringing the finest art shopping experience to the heart of the Gulf Coast. The event will host 50 plus 2-D and 3-D artists. It began today and will be happening tomorrow and Saturday from 10 in the morning until 4 p.m. It is located at Bay Gourmet Catering on Dauphin Street.

    4. Coastal Tailgate Cook-Off Challenge : Football season is here, and that means tailgating is back! The 2nd Annual Coastal Tailgate Cook-Off Challenge will heat up on Saturday! This tailgate is described as a high-energy gameday atmosphere where attendees can sample mouth-watering foods! It’ll be on Marina Lawn in Orange Beach from noon until 3 p.m.! Tailgating teams will compete for a ticket to the World Food Championships in Indiana. 10 tasting tickets are $20 and children 5 and under get in for free.

    5. College Football Kickoff Paper Football Watch Party : Speaking of football season, kick-off College Football in Pensacola at O’Rielly’s Irish Pub for a Paper Football Watch Party ! They will show the first game of the season where No. 10 Florida State Seminoles take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 11 in the morning. There will also be a Paper Football competition where two FSU tickets are in the prize pool!
