    Absentee voting applications now available for Mississippi voters

    JACKSON, Miss. ( WKRG ) — Mississippi residents who can’t make it to vote in person in November can now apply for absentee ballots.

    According to a press release from Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson, absentee ballot applications are now available in Circuit Clerk’s Offices for the Nov. 5, 2024, general election.

    For the Circuit Clerk locations for each county, visit the Mississippi Secretary of State’s website .

    The Mississippi Secretary of State’s website voting information page notes that absentee voting is available in person, at the circuit clerk’s office in the county of the voter’s residence, or via mail.

    Here are important dates for Mississippi absentee voters to keep in mind:

    • Absentee ballots will be available starting Sept. 23, 2024.
    • The County Circuit Clerk’s Office will be open until noon for in-person absentee voting until noon on Oct. 26.
    • The in-person absentee voting deadline for the general election is Nov. 2, 2024.
    • Nov. 5, 2024, is general election day.
