    Suspect in custody after Jackson County standoff, officials say

    UPDATE (1:18 p.m.): The stand-off at a home in Vancleave, Miss. is now over, News 5 has learned.

    According to officials, the suspect in the standoff peacefully surrendered and is now in custody.

    The identity of the suspect has not yet been released.

    ORIGINAL STORY:

    VANCLEAVE, Miss. ( WKRG ) — A stand-off is happening now at a home in Vancleave, Miss., according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

    Officials said the stand-off started between 7 and 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

    The call came in as a domestic dispute, and when officers arrived, they found a man barricaded inside the home.

    The sheriff’s office said no shots have been fired, and it is believed that the man is alone inside the home.

    The home is on Ridgeland Road.
