NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Rain and storms will be likely for Middle Tennessee through very early Sunday morning. At times, some of the storms could be strong or severe due to the rich humid air in our region. After the cold front arrives on Sunday, temperatures cool down into the 70s and 80s for the start of next week.

    Heat and the storm timing

Storms will pop-up through the day on Saturday. As storms develop they will have plenty of energy to access with humid conditions making it feel like the mid to upper 90s across Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. It will be a muggy Saturday.

    Saturday

During the day, there may not be much storm action. However, newest model data suggests that with the cold front on Saturday evening, a line of gusty and strong storms will dive into Southern Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. Therefore, while the Tennessee Titans second pre-season game versus the Seattle Seahawks may start dry, it may end with storms in the area. This will be accompanied with a cold front to lower the rain chance and bring slightly less humid air to our region into next week.

Within heavier storms, rain amounts could reach over one inch. On average through Sunday, rain amounts under half an inch for most areas.
