DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — One Dickson County corrections deputy was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with multiple counts of sexual contact with inmates.

According to a release from the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were made aware of allegations of “possible inappropriate conduct” by a corrections deputy, Calvin Lewis, involving multiple female inmates at the Dickson County jail.

Dickson County Sheriff Tim Eads said the allegations prompted an internal affairs investigation, as well as a criminal investigation with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), and placed Lewis on administrative leave.

That internal investigation resulted in Lewis’ termination, while the TBI’s investigation resulted in Lewis being charged with three counts of sexual contact with inmates. He was taken into custody at his residence and is being held in the Dickson County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

“Our office does not condone, nor will we tolerate, any such behavior. The safety and security of inmates in our custody is of the highest importance,” the release reads, in part. “We have protocols in place that ensure allegations such as these are investigated properly and prosecuted when necessary.”
