Destructive Murfreesboro house fire under investigation

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Fire marshals in Murfreesboro are investigating the cause of a house fire that occurred Saturday night.

The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department said crews responded to a call at approximately 7:23 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 in the 200 block of Haynes Haven Lane, where they discovered a house surrounded by heavy smoke. Flames had spread to both levels of the two-story home and the attic.

Fire officials said the home’s occupants were not present at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.
