LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – It started with a midnight practice at Jackson High School nearly two weeks ago, and on Friday the 6 Sports Two-A-Days coverage came to an end with a pair of CAAC Red squads.

Steve Kersten enters his 24th season leading the Williamston football program and is pleased with the dual-sport athletes he has this year, like junior linebacker and tight end Miles Keener.

The Hornets have reached the postseason for the last eight years and will look to continue that success in a solid conference.

Staying in the CAAC Red, Lansing Eastern enters the season in search of its first win since the 2021 season.

The Quakers have had back-to-back 0-9 seasons, but a lot of it has to do with the lack of players within the program.

When Lansing Eastern didn’t have a football season in 2020, it led to a smaller group of upperclassmen for seventh-year head coach Jordan Morgan.

Now, Morgan returns a junior class with a majority of the players having played varsity football since their freshman year.
