    Russell Fields City Pier closed following a lightning strike

    PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Panama City Beach officials have announced that Russell Fields City Pier will be closed on Saturday.

    Officials said the pier was struck by lightning which resulted in electrical damage. It has been closed to locals and visitors for safety reasons.

    Officials confirmed in a Facebook post that the pier will reopen on Sunday, May 19 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice.
