Fire department battling blaze near CWR contracting yard

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The fire broke out at a local company that does a lot of road work in the area. The fire started around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the CW Roberts contracting business off Center Avenue in Millville.

Panama City fire officials said an asphalt container and conveyor belt caught fire. That sent a huge plume of black smoke into the air.

Firefighters responded and had it under control quickly. That black smoke plume turned to white. There are no reports of any injuries.
